Babylonian Talmud, tractate Bava Kamma and tractate Bava Metzia [in one volume]. Vienna, [1861]. Title page of Bava Metzia contains signature Rabbi “Yitzchak Teitelbaum of Liska”. Several glosses in his handwriting.
The Ga’on Rabbi Yitzchak Teitelbaum (Otzar HaRabbanim 10687), grandson of Rabbi Avraham Chaim Bernstein Av Beit Din of Bardejov [published his composition Divrei Avraham] and son of nephew of Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum of Ujhel author of Yismach Moshe. Prominent disciple of the Maharam Schick and compiler of his teachings, served as Dayan and rabbinical authority of Bardejov (Bartfeld, Slovakia). Perished in the Holocaust.
Leaves coarsely torn out of the book as an act of vandalism.
Incomplete copy. Tractate Bava Kamma missing at beginning and contains leaves: 48-184 (originally 184 leaves. Missing: Leaves 1-47). Tractate Bava Metzia: 1-125, 167-174, 178-206 (originally 206 leaves. Missing: Leaves 126-166, 175-177). 34 cm. Good-fair condition, stains. New binding.
