Original woodcuts by Arikha have been printed on the upper part of two of the leaves, one in brown and the other in black. Arikha (1929-2010) was 22-24 years old while writing the letters and just at the beginning of his artistic career. In the letters, dealing in fact with the relations between a landlord and a tenant, Arikha also expresses some of the thoughts, contemplations and hopes of a young artist.
