Five photographs of Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar on his visits in Eretz Israel. Ca. 1950s-1970s.
In one of the photographs, the Rebbe is seen descending from a boat on his visit in 1959, together with his wife Rebbetzin Alta Feiga and his attendant R. Yosel Ashkenazi. An additional photograph depicts the crowds gathered around the Yitav Lev Satmar yeshiva in Jerusalem, under a sign reading "Baruch HaBa BeShem Hashem". In another photograph, the Rebbe is seen walking down the road, accompanied by his court and surrounded by many Chassidim. Two additional photographs depict various portraits of the Rebbe (during a test in Talmud Torah Satmar in Jerusalem).
Four of the photographs are stamped on the reverse side with the studio stamp of K. Weiss of Jerusalem.

Large-sized photograph of Jewish leaders at the "General Assembly" of the Central Rabbinical Congress and Union of Orthodox Rabbis. [Brooklyn, New York, Wednesday, 9 Sivan, 1961.] Photograph of the stage at the joint assembly of the two Orthodox rabbinic organizations in the United States – the Central Rabbinical Congress, headed by Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar, and the Union of Orthodox Rabbis, headed by R. Moshe Feinstein. The assembly for the strengthening of religion and Orthodox Judaism in the United States was held in the large assembly hall in the St. George hotel, Brooklyn, New York, and was attended by hundreds of rabbis, rebbes, yeshiva deans, Orthodox Jewish leaders, and representatives of the United States Orthodox communities, as well as countless laymen. In his address to the assembly, Rebbe Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar adjured his listeners to carefully check for kosher and holy tefillin and mezuzot when purchasing them.
