Fleurs de terre sainte, Offertes par Mme. Elizabeth de Larapidie [Holy Land flowers offered by Mme. Elizabeth de Larapidie], Jerusalem, [late 19th or early 20th century]. French.
Album with fifteen leaves with pressed flowers mounted on them. Marked (in French) on each leaf is the location where the plants were taken from. The album is bound in an olive wood binding inlaid with a colorful wood-mosaic frame. Within the frame are a carved Jerusalem Cross and the title "Jerusalem" (printed).
Facing the title page appears a portrait photograph of a woman, apparently Elizabeth de Larapidie. In the periodical "Science" from 1897 (vol.5, no.113), de Larapidie is mentioned as a donor to the establishment of a museum and an astronomical and meteorological lookout in Jerusalem.
