The Rothschild Miscellany. A remarkable facsimile published by the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and Facsimile Editions, London, 1989. The Rothschild Miscellany, commissioned by Moshe ben Yekutiel Hacohen in 1479, is considered the most elegant of all Hebrew manuscripts. The Miscellany comprises more than 37 biblical and secular writings. Among the holy books are Psalms, Proverbs, Job, and a yearly prayer book which includes a Passover Haggadah (accompanied by textual illustrations for each festival or prayers for special occasions). The secular books include scientific and philosophical compositions. Copy no. 25 from an edition of 500 copies. An elaborate facsimile, leather binding, with a commentary volume. 24 cm. Very good condition.
