114 letters and documents, sent by and to members of Shumsk and Kremenets Jewish congregations, Volhynia Province, Ukraine. 1920s -50s. Hebrew, Yiddish and other languages.
Most of the documents are handwritten letters, mainly of the 1920s-30s, addressed to the "Association of Shumsk and Volhynia Jews in Israel" or to Pesach Lerner (of Shumsk and one of the editors of the Memorial Book for the Martyrs of Shumsk who Perished in the Holocaust). The documents include memories of life in the province of Volhynia, Ukraine. Attached is a copy of the book "Shumsk, a memory book for the Shumsk Martyrs who were Murdered by the Nazis in 1942", edited by Chaim Rabin). Sizes and conditions vary.
