Collection of letters to and from Beila Mairzon – most are letters written to and from soldiers in the British army. Palestine and Egypt, 1942-1946 (a few are dated later). Hebrew and English (several letter are in Yiddish).
Personal letters about everyday life in Palestine and in the lives of the British soldiers. The collection contains: * Letters in Hebrew and English sent to Beila Mairzon by British soldiers (some are Jewish). Ca. 1942-1945. Many letters were sent from soldiers in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers – R.E.M.E. * Letter from Mairzon to her friend Mordechai Levdansky who served in the R.E.M.E. * Letters to and from Beila Mairzon's family and friends in Palestine, written in Hebrew and Yiddish. Enclosed are most of the original envelopes in which the letters were sent.
