Collection of leaf fragments from a "bindings genizah" - leaves from early editions of the Babylonian Talmud, Rav Alfas and the Rambam's commentary to the Mishnah, 15th-17th centuries.
The collection includes: • Fragment of a leaf from Tractate Berachot [Italy, ca. 1510]. Rare edition, with an abridged commentary of the Rosh printed on the leaf (beneath the Rashi commentary). Of this rare edition, only two leaf fragments are known to be extant. One of them corresponds to this leaf, but is damaged and incomplete, and this leaf features parts which the other is lacking. • Leaves from Tractate Bava Batra. Pesaro: Gershom Soncino, ca. 1510. • Leaves from various tractates and from Rav Alfas. Venice: Daniel Bomberg, 1520-1522. • Leaf from Tractate Kiddushin.
