Collection of journals issued by the Jewish Transportation Unit and the Palestinian Regiment of the British Army. Palestine and elsewhere, 1942-1943. Hebrew and a little English.
The journals provide much information on the activities of the companies and units, the course of the war and the life of the Jewish soldiers in Europe. Many of them are accompanied by illustrations. In the collection:
1. "The Infantry, from the Buffs – for the Hebrew Regiments, Journal of the 2nd Company, the First Hebrew Regiment, the Palestinian Regiment" (Hebrew). Issue no. 4. Tel-Aviv, December 27, 1942. Accompanied by many illustrations and several photographs. Two of the illustrations are signed in the plate by Nachum Gutman.
2. "The Third Company, the 2nd Hebrew Regiment of the Palestinian Regiments, 1941-1943" (Hebrew). Issue no. 1. [1943].
3. " Jewish Transportation Unit, the News Broadcast of the '468' General Transportation Unit, a weekly" (Hebrew). 26 issues. January 8 to December 17, 1943. (issues 1-2, 7-9, 21, 27, 31-33, 36-45, 49-50, 60-61, 63-65).
Enclosed: a paper leaf with a printed illustration; two additional copies of the title page of one of the issues.
A total of 28 issues. Size and condition vary. Good-fair overall condition. Several issues are in fair condition, printed on thin paper with long tears. Some leaves are possibly missing from a few issues.
