Vladimir Vasilyevich Lebedev (Влади́мир Васи́льевич Ле́бедев, 1891-1967) was a prominent figure in the Russian avant-garde. A painter, political cartoonist, and poster artist, Lebedev's style drew inspiration from various artistic movements and styles, including Russian folk art, Cubism, and Futurism. He is particularly renowned for his pioneering work in children's book illustration, creating a distinctive style and raising the bar for that art form in the Soviet Union.
