The Rebbe Rabbi Nachman Kahane (1905-1977), eldest son of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Kahane of Spinka, served as rabbi in Carlsberg. After the Holocaust immigrated to Eretz Israel and resided in Masmia and Bnei Brak. Giant in Torah and Chassidism and closely associated with Torah giants of the generation including the Chazon Ish. Author of Kehilot Ya’akov (the Steipler) writes in reference to him that he is “among leading Halachic authorities and righteous giants of the generation... inasmuch as I was told that the Chazon Ish held his Torah and righteousness in high esteem”.
