Decade's issue of the daily Jewish-Polish paper "Chwila" [moment]. Lvov, 1929.
Special issue including many photographs of the editorial staff, photographs of the publishing house, process of printing the paper and more photographs of the Jewish life in lvov.
The paper was established in 1919 by the leaders of the Zionist movement in East Galicia, who were looking for an opportunity to cope in Polish with accusations against the Jews, to react against the persecutions (a pogrom in Lvov took place a year earlier, in 1918) and to encourage the Jewish spirit. The paper was held reliable amongst all of the Jewish population, and gained success not only because of its political contents and its way of handling the Zionist issue, but also due to its literary and artistic contents.
8 pages, 40 cm. Good condition. Stains, tears to edges and to folding-marks.
