Chasdei David on the Tosefta, by R. David Pardo – all three parts: Livorno: Carlo Giorgi and R. Yaakov Nunes Vais, 1776; Livorno: Eliezer Saadon, 1790; Jerusalem: Yisrael Dov Frumkin, 1890. First editions. All three parts in three volumes.
The first two volumes contain ownership inscriptions and stamps of Rebbe Nachum Dov Ber Friedman of Sadigura. The front endpaper of both volumes contains inscriptions with his signature. On the title pages are two of his stamps, one with his name and a lion icon, and a second stamp "Kinyan Kaspi".
Rebbe Nachum Dov Ber (Bernyu) Friedman of Sadigura (d. 1883), grandson of Rebbe Yisrael of Ruzhin, son of Rebbe Shalom Yosef and son-in-law of Rebbe Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura. R. Nachum Dov Ber was a prominent collector of early manuscripts and books, and possessed a large library. R. Nachum Dov used several types of stamps in his library. Books he inherited from his father were stamped "Nachalat Avotai", books he purchased were stamped "Kinyan Kaspi", and books received as a gift were stamped "Minchat Shai".
Two volumes printed in Livorno: [1], 2-4, 167 leaves; [2], 107 leaves; approx. 35 cm. Overall good-fair condition. Stains, including large dampstains. Wear and tears. Old bindings, disconnected and without spines. Third volume printed in Jerusalem: [1], 146 leaves. 37.5 cm. Dry paper. Fair condition. Tears and wear. The four last leaves contain open tears, affecting text. Old, disconnected binding, without spine.
