A cap badge shaped a s a seven-branched Menorah under which there is a motto-ribbon with the Hebrew slogan "Forward". The name of the manufacturer appears on the badge: "Jennens & Co. London".
During the late 1919, after World War I and the dismantle of some of the military units, the remaining soldiers of the Jewish Battalions were gathered into one battalion – HaRishon LiYehuda (the First Judeans) – which had a Hebrew name and badge. The battalion was dismantled by the British after some of its soldiers came to the help of the Yishuv during the 1921 Riots.
Approx. 3x5.5 cm (including the latch on the back). Good condition. Several stains.
