Under Adler's portrait appears the writing: "Im Befreiungskampfe des Proletariates Mitgewirkt zu Haben-Gibt dem Leben Sinn und Weihe" [in appreciation for participating in the struggle to liberate the proletariat, giving meaning and holiness to life]. Adler (1852-1918), an Austrian Social-Democrat politician of Jewish origin, who succeeded in uniting the various groups of the Austrian laborers movements. For a short period of time served as the foreign minister of German Austria. 10X9 cm. Good condition.
