Binyamin Schwarzfeld (1820-1897), a pioneer of the Enlightenment Movement in Romania. Was one of the founders of the first Hebrew schools in Yassi. Published essays and poems in the anthologies "Kochvei Yitzchak" and "Zimrat Ha-Aretz". His mother's brothers Elias and Moses (Moshe) were editors of Jewish newspapers and periodicals.
