Five Books of the Torah. Geneva, 1618. Printed by Kafa Ilan. Bible with vowels. Two columns to each page. Separate title pages for Nevi'im Rishonim, Nevi'im Achronim and for the Ketuvim (the five Megillot are printed after the Chumash without different title pages). The title page of Ketuvim is somewhat different and it was printed inside an ornamental frame in which is written "Printed in 613 by Kafa Ilan" [according to Shteinshneider it should be corrected to 617 (1617)]. This title page does not appear in all copies.
Ownership inscriptions and family inscriptions, of "Shmuel Zenvill ben R' zvi". Inscribed on the reverse side of title page and on the last leaf are a list of births and deaths. On the last leaf is an interesting inscription of a miracle which occurred to the writer in 1791, who was saved by a great storm which came upon him and two more Jews when they were in "a small ship in the sea".
369 (Leaves 127-128 were erroneously bound after 124); 124 leaves. 21 cm. Good condition. Spotting and wear (primarily to the first and last leaves. Tears to title page. Small tear to the first three leaves. New leather binding.
