Ownership signatures upon title page: “The young Refael Avraham Lev Aryeh". "I have purchased it exclusively for Midrash Zerah Yitzchak, the young Yosef Zamiro”.
Rabbi Refael Avraham Lev Aryeh, author of Heichal Melech (Salonika 1814) was among the Torah scholars of Jerusalem during the time of Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Azoulai. He served as Shliach De’Rabanan [emissary] during the years 1765-1803.
Rabbi Yosef Zamiro, author of Hon Yosef (see item 152), Dayan in Jerusalem in the early 19th century, passed away in 1843.
