Autograph book belonging to Ambassador Gideon Raphael (Rufer), contains hundreds of autographs from the years 1974-1977in a book decorated with the emblem of the State of Israel.
Amongst the autographs are those of Yigal Alon, Golda Meir, Binyamin Netanyahu, Shimon Peres, Yitzchak Navon, Yitzchak Rabin, Gideon Hausner, Abba Eben, Moshe Kol, Ephraim Katzir and more.
Raphael (1913-1999) was born in Germany, studied at Berlin University and immigrated in 1934. One of the first and most senior employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Raphael served as ambassador of Israel to Belgium and Luxemburg, observer to the EEC and the UN in Geneva, ambassador to the UN, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ambassador to Great Britain. Not all of the signatures have been identified. 27cm. Very good condition.
