Satirical leaf, letter to chief judge of Berlin accusing the court of views incongruous with the revolutionary spirit. Was published as part of a series of satirical leaflets during the 1848 revolution concerning daily matters. The name Yitzchak Moshe Hirsch is pseudonym of the publisher Levine Kalman Weil and the historian Shmuel Loevenhertz. The note is in German and includes citation in faulty Yiddish in German letters. Supplies interesting details about the 1848 revolution in Prussia. German.

Splendid poems notebook in illustrated handwriting. Germany, 1859 or 1879.
Gift by Yossef Keesh to his father in law, Edward Alexander (Yossef) Keesh on his 70th birthday.
Two title pages: first title page in German, the second title page on parchment paper, in Hebrew, with a drawing of a woman's head. Written from right to left.
Notebook with thick leaves, calligraphic handwriting using square letter, Rashi script, Hebrew and German. Illustrated titles in different styles: "three buds in the world garden" illustrated with vegetal designs, "love" appears in a heart shape, "thank you" appears on a goblet; German titles are also set in illustrated frames.
Different verses and poetry full of love and gratitude:"your daughter, more precious than pearls , you have given me as a wife…I cannot pay my debt…" in Hebrew and German, page facing page.
The date 1879 appears on the first Hebrew title page and one of the titles within the notebooks includes the year 1859.
Cover of notebook on both its sides is decorated with flowery embroidery designs.

The association greets the philanthropist Joseph Ritter von Wertheimer on the occasion of a family wedding, and expresses the hope that he will continue with his donations to the Jews of the Austro-Hungarian empire in general, and their association in particular. German. Signatures of the association's president, members, and association's ink stamp. 54 X 34 cm. Good condition. Tears and creases to edges.

Established the first kindergarten in Vienna in 1830 as well as an association for rehabilitation of released prisoners and juvenile delinquents; was involved in the Jewish community affairs and one of the leaders of the struggle for civil rights to the Jews of Austria. In 1868 he was decorated by the emperor with a nobility title.

Dr. Natan Birnbaum (1864-1937) Austrian journalist, Jewish philosopher, one of the founders of Zionism. His activities preceded Herzl and he is considered the the first to set the term "Zionism". At a later stage Birnbaum abandoned the Zionist movement, turned into a Charedi and significant activist in "Agudat Yisrael". In 1933 with the rise of the Nazi party to power he immigrated with his family to Holland, where he died in 1937.
