1. Signed ruling of Beit-Din in Jerusalem, signed by Av-Beit-Din Rabbi Chaim Ya'akov Shapira, Rabbi Shaul Elchanan and Rabbi Zevulun of Bialistok. Jerusalem, 1895.
2. Printed leaf with the above mentioned ruling. This leaf was sent by mail, with address and postage stamp,post-stamped in 1900.
Subject of ruling: Rabbi Hilel Lichtenshtein Av-Beit-Din Kolomyia, donated to the Ungarin Kollel an estate in Petach Tikva. The Kollel sold the estate, the widow and his son-in-law Rabbi Akiva Yosef sued the Kollel, claiming that part of the estate belongs to them, and that it was never donated to the Ungarin Kollel.
The signed Dayanim: Rabbi Chaim Ya'akov Shapira Av-beit-Din Kovna and Jerusalem (1830-1907),Rabbi Shaul Elchanan Yaffe (died 1906) and Rabbi Zevulun Harlap, member of Maharil Diskin's Beit-Din.

Letter from Rabbi Raphael Netta Rabinovitz, author of Dikdukei Sofrim, to Ephraim Deinard. Munich, 1875(?).
Interesting letter, containing reply to a request for a photograph "since eight years I have no photographs of mine and I have not yet made others because in these countries this fashion has ended and there is no demand for them".
The letter continues with the issue of acquiring antique manuscripts . At the end of the letter, the Dikdukei Sofrim relates to the first book of Ephraim Deinard, "I own his book Toldot Even Reshef, and it does not seem right to me" [!].
Rabbi Raphael Netta Rabinovitz (1834-1888) an exceptional Ga'on, a leading researcher of the Talmudic versions and a known bibliograph, lived in Munich many years (from 1863) and copied by hand the Munich alterations of the Talmud and other manuscripts and prints, and published his creation "Dikdukei Sofrim".
Ephraim Deinard (1845-1930) historian writer and polemicist, his books aroused much criticism. Deinard was considered a provocative writer, writing with no inhibitions about controversial topics.

Letter from Gaon Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Wertheimer of Jerusalem, to Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Halevi Bamberger Av Beit-Din Kissingen [1892].
Rabbi Shlomo Aharon Wertheimer (1866-1935), the first to research the Cairo Genizah, an outstanding genius amongst the sages of Jerusalem. He lived in poverty but in spite of that did not hesitate to spend his money on obtaining and printing manuscripts. He printed dozens of articles and books from the Cairo Genizah and Genizot from Jerusalem, Midrashim and Sifrei Rishonim. To accomplish his lifetime endeavor he had to raise funds from the wealthy members of the community. This letter concerns a request to raise funds for publishing books.

1. Letter by the Ga'on Azriel Aryeh Leib Rakowsky Av-Beit-Din Polcek (Poland), to Rabbi Yehuda Levinsohn Av-Beit-Din Stockholm, concerning arrangement of divorce for aguna whose husband fled to Sweden. Nissan 1869.
2. A long letter in a poetic style, to Rabbi Levinsohn, regarding the same aguna, from "Dorshei Ha-Torah Veha-Chochma Society in Plonsk" Adar 1869. Signed and ink stamped by the heads of the society [interesting stamp].

Letter from Rabbi Amram Ben Yehuda Blau, to Rabbi Moshe Ber Shehn Rabbi and teacher in Vienna. Jerusalem, 1874.
He tells in this letter that he received his letter by Rabbi David Spitzer [See Kedem Catalogue number 6, item 349; dedication written by Rabbi Moshe Ber Shehn for Rabbi David Spitzer when he moved from Vienna to Eretz Yisrael in 1873].
Rabbi Amram Blau of Pressburg (1829-1899), disciple of the "K'tav Sofer". Served as Rabbi in Slovakia and Hungary (Castalan, Torna and more). In 1869 he moved to Eretz Yisrael and was recognized as one of the outstanding and honorable persons in the holy city. (See enclosed material). His grandchildren are the famous brothers, Rabbi Moshe Blau leader of "Agudat Yisrael" and Rabbi Amram Blau leader of "Neturei Karta".

Written to "My dear friend, the great Rabbi, Shalita" of the city Satmar, the writer discusses matters of printing his book Pardes Rimonim [Satmar 1935] and thanks for the approbation he got. [Approbations were by Rabbi Yosef Zvi Dushinsky, Rabbi Yesha'ayahu First, Rabbi Akiva Sofer and Rabbi Yehuda Tzirelsohn]. On the back of the postcard he announces that "my only son… Pinchas Chaim became engaged to the daughter of the Ga'on of Chop, author of the Shulchan Ha'ezer [Rabbi Yitzchak Levovitz), granddaughter of the Rabbi of Shamlau, [Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich].
Rabbi Yoel Katz, (perished in the holocaust 1944) disciple of Rabbi Shimon Greenfeld, Rabbi Yehuda Grunwald and Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich. Interesting letter from RabbiYitzchak Meir Ben Menachem (Pachiner), to the rabbi of Tiberius, Rabbi Rafael Ha-Cohen Kook. Jerusalem, Elul 1956.
The letter contains a whole discourse on the subject of Teshuva and a special means of earning meritorious judgment, by the Chafetz Chaim, with which he used to awaken the community every Erev Rosh Hashana.
Rabbi Yitzchak Meir (Pachiner) Ben Menachem, (1898-1960), author of Parashat HaMelech. Disciple of the Chafetz Chaim in the RAdin Yeshiva, and one of the foremost disciples of the Saba of Slabodka, in Slabodka and Hebron. Son-in-law of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, and one of the foremost dayanim in Israel.
Official stationery of "Member of the Beit Hadin Hagadol", 23 cm, written on either side. Very good condition, folding marks.

Two letters concerning public charity matters, by the "Chazon Ish", written by his famous assistants. These letters prove his involvement in deepening and strengthening biblical and halachic studies throughout the country.
1. Letter by Rabbi Ya'akov Halpern, founder of "Zichron Meir" neighborhood and very close to the Chazon Ish. Nissan 1953. In the letter addressed to Rabbi Ya'akov Pinchas Shir of Chuassah transit camp, the writer sends money for the Yeshivah in this camp.
2. Letter by Rabbi Zelig Ha-Cohen Shapira to Rabbi Ya'akov Pinchas Shir regarding construction of a Mikveh, Sivan 1953. Official stationery of Merkaz Taharat Ha-Mishpachah. The letter was handwritten by Rabbi Ya'akov Yisrael Kaneivsky – the Steipler (brother-in-law of the Chazon Ish), and only the signature is by Rabbi Zelig Ha-Cohen Shapira. [See enclosed material from "Pe'er Ha-Dor" book page 61, where it is told that Chazon Ish built ninety three [!] Mikveh's with his own money through Rabbi Zelig Ha-Cohen Shapira of Warsaw].
