“A healthy soul in a healthy body – Bezalel Gymnastics Association.” Engraving and etching work on plaster by Mordechai Avnieli, Bezalel artist.
In the center of the picture are Samson and the lion, on the sides are a menorah and Magen David. The inscription appears at the top and bottom.
Mordechai Avnieli (or Avniel, 1900-1989), studied at Bezalel from 1922-1925, taught in the Department for ivory engraving from 1925-1929. He was the head of the workshop for ivory pieces at the end of the 1920s.
Diameter: 5 cm, width 0.5 cm. Good condition. Glue remains on the reverse side.

Stamped “Bezalel Jerusalem” in Hebrew and English with the addition of “Ness Gadol Haya Sham.” Signed “M. Murro 1929” on the lower section.
In the center is a decoration of a Menorah and jar of oil and also “Judah the Defeated” and “Judah the Free” and the letters נ.ג.ה.ש.

Leather has ornaments of grape vines and twigs, with metal board uncharacteristic of ‘Bezalel’ objects and which shows a character picking fruit (oranges?).

In the center of the lid there is an image of Herzl on a seashell, in the two corners – Magen Davids (made from sea-shell) with the inscriptions "Bezalel" and "Jerusalem". Inside, there are three compartments separated by wood, and two wooden parts which can be pulled out.
12.5x5.5x3 cm. Good condition. The lid is slightly detached (2 screws are missing from the hinge).

2. Issue 2, first year, Nissan 1928. [2], 37-72, [2] pages, 19 cm. Fair condition. The cover is partially detached and roughly repaired with adhesive tape and pins. Tears along the margins.
The painting on the cover is designed by Ze’ev Raban. The two issues are in Hebrew and English; both have numerous photographs of Bezalel works.
