Hanukkah lamp. Holland, 1693.
Cut, pierced, repoussé and engraved brass sheet.
Back plate in the form of a pointed arch, in its center a convex decoration in the form of an upside-down heart surrounded by leaves and circles, some of them pierced. On the plate margins are fifteen convex balls. The shamash (cast) is located in the center of the plate (in Dutch Hanukkah lamps the shamash is usually placed on the side rather than in the center). A row of oil fonts is hung on the back plate, beneath it a catch basin for dripping oil decorated in the front with convex circles, some of them pierced. Engraved in the middle of the plate - to the left and right of the convex decoration - is the lamp's year of production: 1693.
Length: 23 cm, width: 28.5 cm. Good condition. Some breaks and bends.

Cast brass; brass sheet, cut and bent.
The back plate is supported by a pair of angels and decorated with curved tendrils interspersed with open-work, fruit and animals. At the top of the back plate is a heraldic shield showing a crowned lion with extruding tongue facing left (apparently a family's coat-of-arms). A row of oil fonts is attached to the base. Each oil font has a small duct for placing the wick.
The plate and the row of oil fonts are made of cast brass and placed above a catch-basin for dripping oil, made of brass sheet. At the left corner of the oil basin is a narrow cylinder, apparently meant for the shamash.
Back plate and row of oil fonts: approx. 15X21.5 cm. Length (including basin): 18.5 cm, width: 25.5 cm. Good overall condition. Pierced holes in the back plate, the heraldic shield and the crown. Some corrosion. Light breaks to basin, and some bends.

Hanukkah lamp Made in Posen. Germany, [late 19th or early 20th century].
Silver (marked: Posen 800), cast and embossed.
Upright lamp. The branches are partly wrapped in foliage-like decorations. The central column and the base are decorated with rocailles and acanthus leaves. At the top of the central column is a large decoration in the form of interlaced leaves. The oil fonts are shaped as stylized goblets placed on leaf-shaped discs. Each oil font holds a narrow cylinder for the wick. The shamash (removable) at the top of the central column bulges frontwards.
Length: 37 cm, width: 30 cm. Good overall condition. Five detached oil fonts (defective screwing mechanisms; one is missing a screw); four detached discs.

Large Hanukkah lamp. [India (or Iraq), early 20th century].
Tin-plated copper; rivets.
The back plate is made of a flat strip of copper branching at its lower end into three arms (bent at their ends) carrying a wide shelf. Eight large holes are pierced into the shelf to hold the light vessels. The shamash, which bulges frontwards, is placed at the bottom of the top third of the back plate. Two holes for hanging.
Length: 32 cm, width: 56 cm. Good condition. Some corrosion. The tin plating is uneven and partly missing. Slight bends. Nine colorful glass vessels.

Cut, pierced and embossed brass sheet.
Dome-shaped back panel, decorated with a symmetric composition that includes a pair of peacocks, four crowns and two rosette-shaped pierced decorations. Above the dome is a soldered rooflet extending frontwards, its top part decorated with crowns and vegetal motifs and pierced with eleven circles. The side panels are embossed with heart-shaped vegetal decorations. A removable row of rectangular oil fonts with pinched spouts. The shamash is located at the top of the back panel, between the necks of the peacocks. Suspension loop.
Length: 21.5 cm, width: 24.5 cm. Good condition. Old soldering repairs.

Engraved at the center of the menorah is the inscription "mizrah" and above it, in Hebrew, "These Lights are Sacred". Two Stars of David inside flowers appear to the left and right of the menorah. At the top of the plate is a pair of birds. The side plates and the side margins of the back plate are decorated with pierced triangles and other geometric patterns. The base of the lamp and its back leg are also decorated with vegetal and geometric motifs. The eight oil fonts and the shamash, whose bottom part is also decorated, are attached to designated slots by means of bent bulges. Suspension loop.
