Krakow, [1580-1581]. [Printed by Yitzchak, son of Aharon of Prostějov].
Second edition, with additions initialized in this edition: Seder HaDorot from Adam until Avraham (Leaves 5-7); compilations from Orchot Olam by Rabbi Avraham Prizol (Leaves 155-156); written on Leaf 156/b: "Words of Rabbi Moshe Isserlish: the order of transmission which I have copied from the book Yesod Olam… and in each place where I added something, I wrote ‘Hagah'…" Most of the following editions were based upon this edition.

Rabbi Shimon Rofeh, is mentioned in the Shev Ya'akov responsa Siman 40, written at the time he served in the Koblenz rabbinate in 1710. The Wallach family was a prominent family of physicians and great Torah scholars. Rabbi Shimon Rofeh (the physician) Wallach (1657-1725) was a community activist and leader in Koblenz from 1689. His son Rabbi Menachem Menlin Wallach (died 1769), a Torah scholar and physician, served for decades as Rabbi in Germany (he served as a Rabbi of Koblenz and its lower district for 29 years). Rabbi Shimon Rofeh's brother, Rabbi Menachem Menlin Wallach, was also a Torah scholar and physician. He wrote a commentary on the Mechilta and a commentary on Breita D'Melechet HaMishkan, and Avodat Mikdash (apparently they were never printed). Rabbi Shimon's second son was Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Rofeh Wallach, the disciple of the Shev Ya'akov who ordained him (see enclosed material). Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac wrote a large work named Pi Shnayim; the manuscript was not printed (see Kedem catalogue 48, item 28).
168 leaves. 18.5 cm. Overall good condition. Restorations and stains to first and last leaves, and to several other leaves. Restoration of affected text on last leaf. Splendid adorned leather binding.
Leaf 7/b is blank as is the case in most copies, however, a leaf with dates of the Chumashim was pasted into some copies [see Bibliography of the Hebrew Book 0178012.]
