Nieuwe Kaart van Suriname vertonende de stromen en land-streken van Suriname, Comowini, Cottica, en Marawini. Map of Suriname, hand-colored. Amsterdam: J. Ottens, [early 18th century].
A detailed map of the northeastern part of the Dutch colony of Suriname in South America, identifying by name tens of plantation owners located near rivers and streams. The local community engaged mostly in growing sugar cane.
Leaf 64X50 cm. Good condition. Some foxing, minor tears to the leaf's top margins. Two pieces of fabric glued to the back of the map, at the top margins.
