Two embroidered ornaments for a Talith with depictions of the Twelve Tribes and Tablets of the Law. [Europe, late 19th or early 20th century]. Jacquard-woven silk with gold and silver threads embroidery. Two (identical) embroidered panels, with fine depiction of the Twelve Tribes and their names, within stylized frames decorated with Stars of David and vegetal and geometric patterns. Tablets of the Law with the twelve commandments are embroidered in the center. Approx. 65X15 cm. Good condition. Unraveled borders. Stains. Tefillin bag. [Europe], 1886. Velvet; cotton; embroidery threads; cardboard. Tefillin bag, made of velvet in two shades. Machine sewn and embroidered by hand. On the front appears an inscription: “Ve-ra’u kol amei…” (Book of Deuteronomy, 28:10) – verse interpreted by Chazal as related to head tefillin. A Torah crown is embroidered above the verse with two birds and a vegetal pattern on the sides. On the reverse: embroidered Star of David and the letters י1886 ) תרמ”ו) and a vegetal pattern on the lower corners. The bag is tied with a string. Length: 25 cm, width: 29 cm. Fair condition. Some unraveled parts of the embroidery. Worn cloth. Stains. String lacking.

Passover Seder plate (“Tzinia DiFisach” – “Passover Tray”). Morocco, [1936]. Hammered and engraved copper. Features various adornments in center of dish: flowers, Stars of David with the word Zion, a Torah crown, Tablets of Law with the inscription “Two Tablets”. “Three matzot” is inscribed at the top; at the bottom “Ke’ara”; and on the edges: “Mo’adim Le’Simcha, Chagim U’Zmanim Le’Sasson, Next Year in Jerusalem…” and the year the dish was produced: 5696 – 1936. The dish symbols are arranged according to the custom of the Ari. Diameter: 52.5 cm. Embroidered tablecloth for Passover. Persia, early 20th century. Cotton and colorful embroidery threads. This ornament, prepared especially for Passover, was embroidered by hand in a dense vegetal and geometric pattern, with embroidered birds. In the center, within a rhombus, appears a floral embroidery, surrounding the verses: “Savari Maranan…”. Pairs of flowers and birds are embroidered all around as well as the inscription “Raban Gamliel Haya Omer…”. Length: 67 cm, width: 96 cm. Good condition.
