Calendar for the year 1879-1880, by Haim Yona Gurland, author and bibliographer, teacher and rabbi in Odessa. The calendar was printed in Hebrew and Russian, page facing page, and is accompanied by articles in Russian (with Hebrew titles): "number of Jews wherever they live", contents of government regulations, information about schools and teachers' seminaries in Vilnius and Zhitomir; list of periodicals and Jewish anthologies in various languages; book stores advertisement leaflets, and more. 128 pp, 19.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Creases and stains (some dark). Some scribbles in colored pencils. First two leaves (title pages) and last leaf are in fair condition - tears (with minor damage to text), some restored, with pasted paper. New binding. Ex-libris label. Ex-library copy.

"Kol HaTor", anthology of poems by Moshe Leib Khashkes (1830-1906), poet, playwright and satirist, born in Lithuania.
On the inner side of front cover, appear a dedication and a short poem handwritten by the author, in honor of the Russian-Jewish businessman, banker and philanthropist, Baron Horace Günzburg: "Throughout the world, the name Günzburg is known, father to the lost, healer to the sick, a sight for the poor, a herd for the widow, and in the hall of 'charity', his oath is taken, to that man I will offer my book, my gift, hoping that he will witness my poverty, and come to my aid." 136 pp, 16.5 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains and creases. Tears to cover. Cover and spine fastened with brown paper. Ex-library copy. Inscription in pencil and pen (by the author?).

History of Jews in Kiev, by Avraham Kupernik. Berditchev: Ya'akov Sheftel printing press, 1891.
Composition concerning the Jewish congregation in Kiev and sections from the Hevra Kadisha registry in the city, by Avraham Kupernik, a leading activist in Kiev at the time. Among others things, Kupernik revived Hevra Kadisha and rewrote its regulations. 45 pp, 15 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains, tear to title page. Chopped margins with minor damage to text on some of the leaves. Ex-library copy.

The booklet contains four articles published in "HaMelitz" between the years 1879-1882. The author, Ze'ev Wolf Mendlin, encourages associations and economic societies between Russian Jews. He criticizes the Haskalah movement which encouraged free studies but did nothing to unite professionals. [2], 48 pp. No back wrapper. 23 cm. Good condition. Occasional stains, tears at margins of leaves. Tear on last page, with adhesive tape, with damage to text. Adhesive tape to spine and to last page. Pinholes. Ex-library copy.

2. Second volume: "Sefer HaHarkava VeHahafrada or Chochmat HaKame'a…with two hundred and twelve drawings, including 185 woodcuts". Fair-good condition. Stains. Wear and significant creases to borders of leaves.
3. Third volume: "Sefer Toldot HaEsh VeHamayim…with two hundred and twenty drawings, including 189 woodcuts". Good condition. Missing back wrapper.
