Souvenir note with two greetings, handwritten by Ze'ev Jabotinsky. Bălți (North Moldavia), 1925/1926 and 1939.
Written in the first greeting: "To my friend Yerahmiel Yaffe, in memory of our meeting in Bălți 1925" and in the second note he added: "and for eternity. Bălți, 1939". Next to both greetings appears Jabotinsky's handwritten signature.
The dedication was written in honor of engineer Yerahmiel Yaffe, head of the Jewish congregation in Bălți in the 1930s and a Zionist revisionist. Ze'ev Jabotinsky visited Bălți three times; in 1925 he delivered his famous speech: "Put an end to the Diaspora, if not - the Diaspora will put an end to you". His next visit to the town was on the eve of WW II. Enclosed is an original envelope. Note 7X11.5 cm. Stains. Tears at margins.

Prescription for eyeglasses, handwritten and hand-signed by Eliezer Ludwik Zamenhof. Warsaw, 1907. Polish. Written on stationery of Zamenhof's clinic in Warsaw.
Eliezer Ludwik Zamenhof (1859-1917), ophthalmologist and amateur linguist, inventor of the international language Esperanto. Zamenhof started to work on creating an international language when he was still a gymnasium student in Warsaw. In 1887, after more than ten years of work, he completed the project. Zamenhof considered Esperanto as a means of communication and distribution of the ideal of co-existence among different communities and cultures. To establish the possibility of using Esperanto as a literary language Zamenhof translated numerous literary creations from international literature (including the complete bible) and composed poetry. Leaf 15.5 cm. Fair condition. Folding marks, creases, stains and tears. Pasted on Bristol. Remnants of an ownership ink-stamp.

Autograph album containing autographs and dedications by singers, composers, authors, actors and intellectuals. Vienna, ca. 1906-1952 (most of the autographs are from the 1920s-30s). The original owner was a Viennese Jewish woman who immigrated to Israel before the war.
The album contains 59 autographs and handwritten dedications. About half are signed directly in the album; and the rest on pieces of paper, cards, envelopes and postcards, which were pasted or tipped-in to the album. Many of the autographs include a few words or lines of text. A few have musical notations and one an ink-wash drawing. Most were dated by the signers.
Almost all the signers are Austrian personalities. Many are Jews, some of whom were persecuted by the Nazis. Among others, the album contains autographs and dedications by the following renowned personalities:
• Max Brod - Jewish author, publicist, composer and close friend of Franz Kafka - Signed, handwritten 13-line letter in German, March 1952.
• Albert Heine - Actor, director of the Vienna Burgtheater.
• Erich Kästner - Author ("Emil and the Detectives" and more) and poet - Autographed postcard.
• Jan Kiepura - Jewish-Polish actor and tenor.
• Josef Popper-Lynkeus - Jewish scholar, scientist and author who influenced Einstein, Freud, Buber, Zweig and Jabotinsky - Several lines handwritten on a postcard.
• Arthur Schnitzler - Jewish-Austrian author and playwright- Signed, handwritten 7-line letter in German, 1925.
• Erich-Paul Stekel - Jewish composer (son of Wilhelm Stekel).
•Many others.

A handwritten letter, by actress Ester Rachel Kamińska to "The Russian-Jewish Committee in Germany", Berlin, 1922. Russian.
Kamińska requested the committee to financially assist the studies of her son in the Berlin Music Academy. In exchange she offered to stage a play for the benefit of the committee.
Following Kamińska's letter is a short handwritten letter of recommendation by Haim Nachman Bialik (Hebrew): "the famous Jewish actress Mrs. Ester Rachel Kamińska deserves, no doubt, the attention of the committee who will, as far as possible, fulfill her request".
Actress Ester Rachel Kamińska, neé Halperin (1870-1925) was one of the leading actresses of the Polish theater and the Yiddish theater and was known as the "Mother of Jewish Theater". Kamińska performed with her husband Avraham Yitzchak Kamiński in a theater group; her repertoire included Yiddish plays by leading Jewish authors, as well as plays penned by non-Jews. The Warsaw Jewish Theater is named after her and after her daughter, actress Ida Kamińska. Her son, Joseph Kaminski, for whom she wrote this letter, was a violinist and composer. Kaminski immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1937 and was the first violinist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for many years. A postcard with a picture of Kamińska is enclosed. [1] leaf, 28 cm. Fair-poor condition. Folding marks, stains and tears, some rough (with damage to text). Inscriptions in pencil (mainly on the reverse). Adhesive tape restorations.

Haim Nachman Bialik, a handwritten letter (Hebrew) to the "organizers of the Jubilee festival for David Frishman in Warsaw". Written on official stationery. Odessa, February 1914.
In his letter Bialik refers to an event planned to be held in Warsaw in honor of David Frishman's birthday, and he informs the organizers that he cannot assist them.
"…Despite wishing to be helpful from here, I cannot do anything for Frishman if Ussishkin and Klausner are not with me. All my efforts to arouse any movement toward the Frishman jubilee were in vain… I inform you in advance that there is no hope in Odessa…The local population is crass and has no regard for literature or other noble matters". Leaf, 21 cm (folded into two). Good condition. Central folding mark and creases.

The manuscript is kept with me, and when something will be published for Yemenites, 'the ancient things' will be published there since it is adequate for them. The Ashkenazi workers - either these things are already known to them…or the style will not be understood by them since they are not great scholars of the Bible or Talmud". Leaf, 20.5 cm.
