Twenty one photos portraying the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp soon after its liberation by British soldiers, circa April-May 1945.
The photos portray survivors in very severe physical condition, bodies scattered in the camp, medical treatment, burning of the camp's buildings (probably on May 21), etc.
It seems that the photos were taken by a British soldier during the first few weeks following the camp's liberation. Some photos are titled on the reverse (in pencil). Contained in an envelope with a British postal ink stamp of November 1945. 5.5X8 cm. Good condition.

57 photographs documenting the Holocaust of European Jewry and the concentration camps, [1940s]. Among the photographs: * Five large newspaper photographs (2.5X25 cm, United Press International Photo) – from the end of the war, Nordhausen (Dora-Mittelbau), Langenstein, Belsen and Dachau camps; * Seven photographs (later prints?) of the murder of the Jews of Libau (Latvia) shot down into pits, 1941; * three portrait photographs (later prints) of partisans murdered by the Nazis; * 26 photographs, some reproductions of photographs from the time of the Holocaust (Kovno Ghetto,Riga Ghetto and Auschwitz can be seen in some of the photographs) , some were used for Nazi propaganda and some were photographed in the midst of Holocaust survivors, she'erit hapleita after the war. * Album with 26 photographs (7X9.5 cm), 16 were taken in the Buchenwald concentration camp, [1950s]. Printed notes with explanations were integrated into the album leaves. The entrance to the camp, a model of the camp, various structures, crematorium, hanging pole and more can be seen in the photographs. Some of them are difficult to behold. Varied size and condition.

1 . A Photograph of the liberated inmates of the concentration camp orchestra – "Jewish Ex- Concentration Camp Orchestra" - Live at the Opera House in Nuremberg on May 7, 1946. The orchestra members perform on the stage dressed in striped prison uniform underneath which one can see a tie. The setting is comprised of two main elements that symbolize the torn path of the liberated inmates: barbed wire fence and a yellow star of David with the inscription "Jude" stands side by side with a pole out of which grows a palm tree – on it we see another star of David with the inscription "Zion." At the front of the stage there are nine rectangles with blue and white stripes and on them we see the inscription "Am Israel Hai (The Israel People Live)" 20X26 cm. Good condition. There are fastener marks on the back of the photograph.
This photograph appears on the website of the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research and it says there that the orchestra performs in front of the prosecutors of the “Nuremberg trials”.
2 . A printed program for the said event (English), with the names and the photographs of all the members of the orchestra and the repertoire for the evening: four excerpts from popular operas and seven contemporary songs: two songs from the Vilna Ghetto and folk songs, the final song is "Our Way." On the back of the program appear the printed lyrics of four of the performed songs . [4] pages , 30 cm . Good condition. Folding marks.
3 . An information sheet about the orchestra which was also printed for the event (English). On it there are the details about the orchestra that was founded in Kaunas in 1941, shortly after the establishment of the ghetto in the city. Since the “Nazi murderers” forced the orchestra members to perform for them, the members of the orchestra survived until the annihilation of the ghetto in June 1944. After the obliteration of the ghetto, the 35 orchestra members were moved to concentration camps. Only twelve members survived the war and they met again in St. Ottilien (at first the orchestra was called St. Ottilien Orchestra), Munich , June 1945. The orchestra continued its activity until 1949 . page 31.5 cm .
4. Typewritten letter, sent form the American zone in Germany to the U.S. in March [1946?]. It includes detailed and personal reports regarding the events at the displaced persons camps, the JDC activities and the U.S. military operations as well as the physical conditions of the survivors , and more. [2] leaves (incomplete?).

That is to say agreements destined to strengthen West Germany's independence and continue its integration in the West. The poster was printed on behalf of UJRE organization ("Jewish organization for Resistance and Support"), founded in 1943 in the framework of the Resistance. 115X73 cm, framed 130X88 cm. Simon Wiesenthal's memoirs of the Mauthausen concentration camp, with illustrations and photo-collages by Wiesenthal, portraying the atrocities which Wiesenthal experienced in this concentration camp. Tens of drawings signed in the plate and dated 1945.
Simon Wiesenthal ("Nazi Hunter", 1908-2005), a Jewish architect, holocaust survivor, who devoted his life to track down and gather information on alleged Nazi war criminals with the intention of using the material at trials on charges of war crimes. Wiesenthal was moved during WWII through various concentration camps. In 1945 he arrived in Mauthausen and somehow survived until the camp was liberated. After his release he started to work for the United States Army in gathering material about Nazi war criminals. In 1947 he founded "The Center for Jewish Documentation" in Linz, Austria. Due to lack of interest in suing Nazi war criminals the center was closed but Wiesenthal continued privately to collect and document material about Nazi criminals. [114] pp, 30 cm. Good condition. An important book with many photographs which document the European Jews’ massive illegal emigrations from countries that were freed by the Red Army to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, and from there to Israel on the boats of Ma’apilim [illegal immigrants]. Parts of the book are dedicated to the journey of the children and the orphans who walked through the paths of the escape, while another part of the book documents the journey and capture of the Exodus boat. Accompanied by explanations and verses from the Bible in three languages: Hebrew, Yiddish and English. Foreword by [Ephraim] Dekel, senior member of the Haganah and among the instigators of the “Breicha”. [104] leaves, 24X34 cm. Good condition. Few stains. Minor tears on the edges of the cover and on the spine.

The cover illustration is by the artist Arthur Szyk, who illustrated a number of Revisionist publications at the time. The booklet opens with the text of “Yizkor," and then a historical chronicle of Zionism from a Beitar perspective. Also includes biographical notes – some illustrated with photo-portraits – of a number of Jewish authors and Beitar and Zionist leaders. [2], 80, [1] pp, 15 cm. Good condition.
