Eight medals granted to a student in a Jewish school in London, early 20th cent. 1-7. Seven medals granted to the student S. Shapiro on behalf of the London Region Council in the years 1905-1910. The medals were granted as a prize for consistent attendance in school. On one side appears a relief of King Eduard VI and on the other side the student's name and the year for which the medal was granted. 8. Medal on behalf of Jewish religious educational board. Granted to the student S. Shapiro as a prize for consistent attendance. On one side a menorah and the inscription "Ner Mitzvah VeTorah Or". Ribbon.

Medal commemorating the liberation of the city of Leiden (Holland) from the Spanish siege. Holland, 1574. Cast silver. Obverse: illustration of the siege on the city of Leiden, inscription: "SIC•HISPA•A•LEYD•NOCTV•FVG" [Spanish fled Leiden] and the date of liberation: October third, 1574. Reverse: illustration from the Book of Kings – Sanherib's army (King of Asyria) fleeing Jerusalem and the inscription: "VT.SANHERIB•A•IERVSALEM 2•REG•19" [as Sanherib fled Jerusalem, Book of Kings 2, 19]. Anti-Semitic medal. Cast silver. Germany, 1694. Obverse: a Jew holding a stick with a bag of corn on his back. Satan empties the bag and the inscription: "Du Korn Jude" [the Corn Jew] and "Theure Zeit" [starvation time]. Reverse: a sieve with an inscription on its rim: "Wer Korn Inhelt Dem Fluchen Die Leu The Aber Segen Komt Über Den So Es Uer Kauft". Diameter: 35 mm. This is one of the first anti-Semitic medals. Similar "Du Korn Jude" medals have been minted in Germany since late 18th cent. and through the 19th cent. The goal of these medals was to introduce Jews as responsible for rising food prices or for a period of starvation in Germany.

Nine coins of different denominations. Hungary, 13th cent. On seven coins appear Hebrew letters. It seems that the coins were minted by Jews who used to "mark" the coins by engraving the first letter of their surname. On two of the coins there are no Hebrew letters.

Four medals minted to commemorate Admiral Sydney Smith's success in fighting off Napoleon's army in Acre during the battle of 1799. [England, ca. 1820]. 1-2. Silver medal and bronze medal. Obverse: Admiral Sydney Smith portrait, inscription "Admiral Sir S. Smith" and maker's mark: Mudie D. Reverse: Allegorical relief – British lion defending Syrian camel against French tiger.
