Five Books of Torah. With "Torat Gavriel" commentary, by Rabbi Gavriel Ze'ev Margaliot, Jerusalem-New York, 1910-1926. Colored title pages.
At the beginning of the "Bereshit" volume is a long dedication from 1922, handwritten and signed by the author, Rabbi Gavriel Ze'ev Margaliot (1848-1935, Otzar HaRabbanim 4305) son-in-law of the famous tzaddik Rabbi Nechumke of Horodna. A leading preacher in his times and a foremost rabbi in the USA. In 1924, he founded an independent rabbinical organization called "Knesset of Orthodox Rabbis".

On opposite side of title page printed label by author filled in in his handwriting with his signature and stamp, dedicating the book to “my beloved prominent and famous rabbi… rabbi of the entire Diaspora Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spektor Av Beit Din of Kovno…”. In his signature he requests that Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan “have me in mind in his prayers during the holy days”. Signatures “bibliotheca of Kollel Kovno”.
Rabbi Shlomo Avraham Razachta – The Ga’on of Azrakov (1843-1928, Otzar HaRabbanim 18677), righteous genius, among greatest rabbinical authorities of his generation, corresponded with giants of his generation. In this book he presents responses and correspondences from the famous Torah giants, Rabbi Yosef Zecharia Stern, Rabbi Yitzchak Shmelkish, Rabbi Eliyahu David Rabinowitz Te’omim [the Aderet], Rabbi Mordechai Gimpel Yaffe, the Sdei Chemed and more. First composition, Kiryat Melech, contains notations and comments on the Rambam, appendix to the Rambam’s Mishneh Torah, Pardes Publishing House, Jerusalem 1958. This pamphlet, containing notations on introduction of the Rambam was originally composed as part of Kiryat Melech, however for reasons stated in author’s introduction was printed separately.
Title page contains heartfelt inscription in handwriting and signature of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky: “Av 1960, gift to exceptional Bar Mitzvah young man, Mr. Avraham Dov son of Rabbi Raphael Levine; may you merit to earnestly study the Torah for the glory of your family. Chaim Kanievsky”.

Ownership notations and signatures as well as birth listings from 18th century: “Simcha known as Bunim son of Rabbi Yitzchak Shalit…”; “belongs to the exceptional Rabbi Chaim”; “this book belongs to the esteemed Rabbi Chaim Av Beit Din of congregation of Miestetz”. Glosses by several writers from that period on margins of sheets. Last leaf contains wording of bill of transaction with addition of laws.
This copy was presented as a wedding gift to Rabbi Shmuel Kauder Av Beit Din of Prague, who signs several times throughout the book, and states: “This book… has been given to me as a gift by my close friends, exalted and exceptional…”. A list of 19 names appears; apparently referring to his classmates from the Yeshiva in Prague or Kelin.
