Complete set of "Theatre and Art" booklets, monthly journal published by Aharon Yachnovitz (Yachnai). Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, 1925-1928.
Issues 1-13 (nine booklets).
"Theatre and Art" was amongst the few art journals in Eretz Israel, yet a most important one, in the 1920s, and dealt with shaping the nature of Israeli art. Amongst the writers: Meir Gur-Aryeh, Shmuel Ben-David, Joseph Zaritzky, Avigdor HaMeiri and others. The first issue opens: "let this monthly paper serve as a stage for all of those whose heart follows art in Eretz Israel….let the critics express their ideas in order to improve art in our country. Every artist will find his place here".
Generally, in good condition.

Many of the dedications are for Moshe Shnatmann. Amongst the items are photos of the following actors: Yosef Kamen, Binyamin Zemach, Reikin Ben-Ari, S. Tanin, Moshe Pastor, Moshe Shnatmann (no dedication), Shofrenko, Esther Perlman, Fishsohn, Leib Liebgold, Vera Kanewskin, Genia Shalit, Pola Walter, a group-photo with 11 signatures, a postcard with signatures of many artists, and some other photos. Average size 9X14 cm. Condition varies.

Amongst them, photos of actors who participated in the first performances of "Hadibuk" in Yiddish, in the 1920s by the "Vilner trupe" (the Vilnius Group) in Warsaw: Noah Nachbush, Eliyahu Stein, Joseph Bulov, Matityahu Kovalsky, Avraham Morawsky, Baruch Chemerinski, M. Leiserovich, and others. One photo is signed on the reverse "Fot. A. [Alter] Kacyzne". Average size 9X14 cm. Condition varies, fair-good.

15000 Jewish Soldiers, 1 Demand: A Jewish Army! [USA, 1940s].
Lino-cut in blue. The proclamation calls for establishing a Jewish army in the USA. The Revisionist Movement was active in the 1940, headed by Ze'ev Jabotinsky, towards establishing a Jewish Army to fight alongside the Allied Forces. When Jabotinsky died, the political activists of Etzel staying at that time in the US, started a propaganda campaign to enhance the achievement of this goal, an action which served as an incentive for Zionists of the central stream to join the struggle. In May 1944 "The Jewish Committee for Liberating the Nation" was founded and acted to save Jews in Europe, to establish a Jewish army and a Jewish state in Eretz Israel. 48X31.5 cm. Good condition.
