"VeHaya HeAkov LeMishor", composed by S.Y. Agnon, published by J.H. Brenner. Etin printing press, Jaffa, [1912].
Agnon's first book. The story was written in Neve- Zedek late in 1911 during four days and was published, in nine sections, in "HaPo'el HaTza'ir". In order to finance the printing of the book, Brenner used his belt as a collateral. [2] Leaves, 3-64, [1] pp, 17 cm. Good condition. Title-page and lining-leaves fastened with adhesive tape. Simple cardboard binding, of the printing period, somewhat worn. Elaborate cardboard case.

The story was later adapted and printed under the title "HeAvot VeHaBanim" (Odessa, 1868), with many alterations. This is the first edition of Mendele's second book, in which he describes the generation gap between fathers and sons: the dynamic life of the young generation versus the decaying life of the old generation. On the lining leaf: "first printing, very rare". [5], 75 pp, 16 cm. Good condition. Stains. Ink stamps. Cloth binding.

2. 2nd year, issues with consecutive pagination (no title-pages). At the end, covers of issues 8-9 were bound, with a note: "I inform all subscribers of "HaMeorer" that instead of printing issues 10-12…, we are sending anthology of G. Shofman works". Bound is "Reshimot" by G. Shofman, London, 1908, 118 pp.
Creations by leading writers and poets are included, amongst them: Brenner, Rabbi Binyamin, M.I. Berdichevsky, Zalman Shneor, Ya'akov Cohen, Gershon Shofman, Ya'akov Fichman, David Frishman and others. "HaMeorer", at the time, was the only Hebrew literary periodical in the world. 20 cm. Anthology contains pieces by young Hebrew poets and prose authors, who wished to express the new reality in the ancient language. A rare example of Hebrew creation in the Soviet Union. The editorial staff wrote at the end of the booklet "It is well known that our existing literary institutes were founded by and act thanks to famous authors, whose influence on wide circles of readers is great and their words are said with much confidence as is proper for the nation's leaders and educators, while we call the young people here and there who feel in their hearts the vibrations of the times in which we live….". Several years later a collection of poems by young poets was published in Odessa by the name of "Peka'im" edited by Nathan Greenblatt and Moshe Eliyahu Zack of "Tal" participants. 80 pp, 22.5 cm. Generally, in good condition. Numerous library ink stamps. Minor tears and stains. New binding.

Short stories by Hava Shapira (1878-1943), writer, critic and publicist, of the pioneer Hebrew female writers (great-granddaughter of R' Pinchas of Koritz and granddaughter of the printer R' Moshe Shapira of Slawita). Died in Theresienstadt Ghetto. Shapira writes at the beginning of the book: "Our literature misses the participation of the second half of humanity: the weak gender. While entering this foreign circle I hope that many of my gender will follow. As long as women will not take part, our literature will be lacking". 63 pp, 18.5 cm. Good condition. Ink stamps. Stains. New, fine, cardboard binding.

Booklets 1-14. "HaMachar" was published by the poet and author Avigdor Hameiri (1890-1970). The covers were designed by the artist Pesach Ir-Shai. The motto which appears on all of the covers: "Freedom of Speech is not an option but a Must". On the cover of the first issue appears a dedication handwritten by Hameiri: "For the reader Y. Silberberg, with a greeting of Aliya with no exit, Avigdor Hameiri". A printed note is attached to some of the journals with the Table of Contents. All of the issues are bound together, vol. 23.5 cm. Generally, in good condition. Stains. Tears to first issue, restored.

Most of the stories were written by Ben-Israel, as well as by some others, amongst them: Uri Keisari, Haim Dov Halachmi, Nahum Snapiri, Aryeh Samsonov, and others.
