Resided in Frauenkirchen [which is mentioned in his signature]. From 1827 served in the Shatmansdorf Rabbinate and from 1852 served as Av Beit Din of Kobersdorf. In 1873 immigrated to Jerusalem together with his prominent disciple Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.

Kol Sofer, novellae on Mishnayot [Zera'im, Mo'ed, Nashim], by Rabbi Chaim Sofer. Mukachevo, 1881.
On the book's title page is the stamp of Rabbi "Shlomo Ganzfried Rosh Av Beit Din of Ungvar" and several of his signatures in a foreign language on the first leaves [another owner's signature: "Yechezkel Segal Landau"]. On the margin of one of the leaves are two long glosses, one [cutoff] is apparently in the handwriting of Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried.
Rabbi Shlomo Ganzfried (1804-1886, Otzar HaRabbanim 18404), a great scholar and posek of his generation, Av Beit Din of his birthplace, Ungvar from his youth until his death. At age 30, he published his first work Keset Sofer which was privileged to receive the enthusiastic approbation of the Chatam Sofer, who instructed all his disciples "that from the day that the book Keset Sofer was printed, no scribe will receive a permit to write until he is proficient in this bookג€¦ and a scribe that is not proficient in this book will be rendered unfit for his trade". He wrote many works on halacha and aggada, but is especially famous for his book Kitzur Shulchan Aruch that was accepted by Jews throughout the world and has been printed in hundreds of editions in many languages.

Title page contains picture of lion with stamps of Rabbi "Yisrael Friedman" and Rabbi "Yitzchak Friedman". These stamps are similar to the stamp of their brother Shlomo Friedman [see Kedem catalogue, auction 16 item 104] and to the stamps of the famous library of their brother-in-law Rabbi "Nachum DovBer Friedman".
The Rebbes - Rabbi Yitzchak (1850-1917) and Rabbi Yisrael (1852-1907), holy sons of the first Rebbe Rabbi Avraham Ya'akov of Sadigura. After the demise of their father in 1883, they both served in the leadership in the city of Sadgora. After three years Rabbi Yitzchak moved to the city of Boyan where he established his Beit Midrash.

Rabbi David Bornsztain was born in 1876 in Nasielsk to his father, author of Shem M'Shmuel, son of the Avnei Nezer of Sochaczew. At the age of 20, was appointed Rabbi of Wyszogrֳ³d where he headed a yeshiva for older boys. After World War I, moved to serve in the Tomaszow and Zgierz rabbinate. In 1926, he succeeded his father as Rebbe and was one of the most outstanding rebbes in Poland. Died in the Warsaw Ghetto in Kislev 1942. His entire family perished in the Holocaust. His many books and most of his writings on the Talmud were lost in the upheavals of those years.

Was among the prominent Chassidim of the "Beit Aharon" of Karlin. The author of "Yismach Yisrael" of Alexander referred to him as "Torah Scroll". Rabbi Chaim Shmuel of Chantshin related that for many years he was the most righteous giant of the generation.

Rabbi Eliyahu Kletzky-Kletzkin (1852-1932), of the greatest, most famous Geonim of his time, son of the Chabad Gaon Rabbi Naftali Hertz Kletzkin (disciple of the "Chatam Sofer") and son-in-law of the Lithuanian Gaon Rabbi Baruch Mordechai Lifshitz, Av Beit Din of Novardok and Schedlitz. By the time he had reached the age of 18, the Malbim had written about him that: "He is almost one of a kind in his generation, as knowledgeable in the area of Talmud and Talmud related matters as one of the Geonim. His diligence is wonderful and he is a wonderful manג€¦he has great Yir'at Shamayim and follows the path of holiness and purity." Served as Rabbi of Brezi, Marimpolis and Lublin, Gaon of tremendous depth, contemporary Geonim of Lithuania and Poland sent their questions to him. Moved to Jerusalem in 1925. Authored many books. At end of book, 4 handwritten pages, index and three pages of lists commemorating family occasions and dates of birth and death, in handwriting of the author's son, some copied from the author's own lists. In one list, he copied the date of his father's birth: "The date of my father, my teacher's birth, 1809, two days before Rosh Chodesh Adar in his mother's opinion and in his father's opinion, one day before Rosh Chodesh Adar and this was always disputed - this I have copied from his handwriting, Hashem should lengthen his days until the arrival of the redeemer".
The Magid of Vilkomir, Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Aharon Rappaport (1809-1904), served for decades as a preacher in Eiֵ¡iֵ¡kִ—s (1838-1843) and in Wilkomierz (1843-1884). At age 75, immigrated to Jerusalem where he lived a long life. Besides this book, wrote dozens of pamphlets and proclamations on various topics in Jerusalem. Many articles have been written about his esteemed character and his original opinions. These interesting lists reveal many details of his life and the lives of his parents and children.
