Two Ketubot from the small town of Kulashi (Western Georgia):
1. Ketubah from the wedding of Shalom son of Aharon with Chava daughter of Aharon, [1940]. Witnesses’ signatures in Georgian.
2. Ketubah from the wedding of Yitzchak son of Gabriel with Ruth daughter of Gabriel, [1948]. Witnesses’ signatures in Georgian and one Hebrew signature: “Shabtai son of Chakham Avraham Michaelshvili”.
Both Ketubot were handwritten in Rashi letters and are decorated with plain adornments.
Georgia was the only USSR country where Judaism was kept openly through Synagogue services and Jewish weddings.

Printed Ketubah, Berlin-Munich, [1946].
In the printed version “in Berlin” erased and “holy congregation of Munich” added in handwriting. Upon the marriage of David son of Shmuel Edelstein and Musha daughter of Avraham. On reverse side stamp of the Munich rabbinate and handwritten notation.
Leaf of 22.5 cm. Fair condition. Foxing. Folding marks, minor tears.

Seder Chamesh Ta’aniyot Sephardic custom. Amsterdam, [1740].
“Nicely arranged in a small volume, with plenty of things we’ve added…”.
This is the fourth part of a Machzor that was printed in Amsterdam at the same year in miniature format 16°, based on Amsterdam 1712 edition.
199, [1] leaves, 8 cm. Good condition. Gilded leaves’ edges. Slightly worn, antique leather binding.

Torah, Nevi’im and Ktuvim, including a translation into Ladino by Rabbi Avraham Asa, and commentary by Rashi. Constantinople, [1739-1745]. First edition. Six volumes.
In the first volume the verses and translation were printed in square letters with vowel symbols. In the introduction to the second volume the printer relates complaints of the readers regarding the printing of the translation in square letters, and their desire that it will be printed in Rashi letters, and indeed, from this section, the Ladino translation was printed in Rashi letters without vowel symbols. In the third volume, the printer’s complaint appears (in Ladino) on the last page stating that the subscribers are not fulfilling their promise to finance the printing of the book. Furthermore, it is stated that a limited number of copies of the book was printed, for subscribers only.
Six volumes, various sizes and conditions. Some of the volumes are missing pages or title pages, and replaced with photocopies. Notes in oriental handwriting. Stains. Moth damage and tears. Several leaves detached. New bindings (one volume in ancient leather binding).
