The author, Rabbi Moshe Konitz (1834-1839). Rabbi in Ofen and Budapest, disciple of the Noda BiYehuda and Maharam Mintz. He was a controversial figure, being both a Rabbi great in Torah knowledge as well as an Enlightenist proficient in secular studies.

Rebb Schloime Klappzymbels… von Johann Aduard Sack. Lemberg, 1814.
"Rabbi Schloime Klappzymbels, an accurate description of the Lemberg Jewry at the time of the peace celebrations, dedicated to his faithful friend Rabbi Hersch Shmeckpüdele, as memento for the feeling of happiness during the event" [names are fictional].
Booklet written in Antique Galician-Yiddish in Latin letters. At the bottom of each page are notes in Gothic letters which translate special Jewish and Polish terms.
The booklet includes description of the visit of the Austrian Kaiser in Lemberg from the point of view of the Jewish residents, including a Thanksgiving prayer in the synagogue for the signing of the peace treaty, a parade of the Cheder children and the Melamed, Klezmers, kinds of food served, the Keter Tora which was presented to the Kaiser, exact naming of the squares and streets, Doctor Rapoport who donated a portrait of the Kaiser to the community etc.
The visit of Kaiser Franz I in Lemberg was held following the defeat of Napoleon and the re-dividing of Europe in the Paris agreement. Part of this agreement included annexation of parts of Galicia to Austria.
An important description of an historical event in the life of the Jewish community.

Single leaf listing 81 titles from Anton Schmid’s press (1765-1855), a Christian printer who employed several people related to the Haskala movement as editors and proof-readers in his press (their books appear on this list, on the side of the Bibles, Mishnayot, Tehilim and Machzorim printed by him), he was among the most prominent and active publishers of his time.

Obtaining evidence in Beit Din. Ulm, Germany, [1947].
Obtaining of evidence for granting a husband approval to remarry after the Holocaust. Declaration of the witness as to have known the couple prior to the War and knowledge that the wife had been transported to death camps in November 1942.
The city of Ulm was one of the central postwar displaced persons camps. The document bears the signature and stamp of Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh Leib Ausubel-Geffen (1910-1957), rabbi of Ulm during that period [later on rabbi of Kfar Ata. For additional information related to him see: Encyclopedia of Galician Scholars, 1, pages 731-134, and attached material]. Two additional signatures appear.
Attached is a scrap of paper containing handwritten authorizations of the immersion of a bride, with the above-mentioned stamp of the Ulm Rabbinate.

Babylonian Talmud – complete set. Munich-Heidelberg, 1949. "Published by Rabbis Committee in the American Zone of Ashkenaz".
Upon termination of World War II and the gathering of Jews in Displaced Persons Camps, there was a shortage of holy books for use by the refugees, as a result of the eradication of books during the war by the Nazis. Starting in 1947 the Va'ad HaRabbanim in Germany, with the aid of the American army and the Joint, arranged an operation of printing the Talmud for the refugees. At first only a few tractates were printed, according to the daily order of reading. In 1949 the first complete edition was printed, to be found herewith.
Each volume contains two title pages. The first was designed especially for the occasion of printing the Talmud on the scorched German soil. An illustration of a Jewish village appears on top of the copy with the writing: "Labour Camp in Ashkenaz during the Nazi Regime".
