Manuscript, responsa and sermons "Harei Besamim", by the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib HaLevi Horowitz. Stryi, 1898-1899.
The booklet of responsa, in his holy handwriting [autographic writing of the author with appendixes and corrections], arranged according to the order of the time they were written from Av 1898 until Adar 1899. [Printed according to manuscript, Third addition, Jerusalem 1958, chapters 46-61].
Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Horowitz (1846-1909), was amongst the great geonim and poskim of Galicia. In his youth, he would travel to the Admor author of Divrei Chaim of Zans. The dear grandson of the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Yissachar Horowitz Av Beit Din of Stanislaw, author of "Bar Livai" and the son of the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Horowitz, author of "Toldot Yitzchak" and "Me'ah She'arim". Served as Rabbi of Zalozitz, Stryi and Stanislaw. In 1883 and 1897 he printed the first and second part of his responsa in the book "Harei Besamim". The rest of his manuscripts he arranged for printing but they were not printed. During World War II, his manuscripts disappeared in the burning of the city of Bistritz, but his disciples dug under the ruins of the house and found the manuscripts. With much sacrifice the manuscripts were smuggled into Israel and the US, where the third and fourth parts were printed in 1958, and the fifth in 1984. See enclosed material.

Large archive of manuscripts handwritten by the Holy Rebbe Chaim Rabinovitch of Bucharest. Responsum and Mishna, Shulchan Aruch novellae, sermons, eulogies and chassidic essays. Most documents were edited but not printed.
Rebbe Chaim Rabinovitch, descendant of Rabbi Nachman of Horodenka, Rabbi Ya'akov Shimshon of Spitovka and Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz. Born c. 1880 to his father Rebbe Shalom of Kolomea. Married the daughter of the Ga'on Rabbi Yisrael Landa Av-Beit-Din Sadigura, served in Rabbinate of Iassi and Sadigura. [In 1913, while his father in law was still alive (died in 1921), was appointed as Rabbi of Sadigura by family members and the city's rabbis – see item 481].
Moved to Bucharest after World War I, where he served as Admor. In 1930 published his book "Kochav Ha-Shachar", responsum and homiletics. In the introduction he tells his family's history [in the manuscripts herewith there are additional details about his family]. On the title page the author writes "as we have witness this first shining star…G-d will help me published all other novellae that I nurtured".
Emigrated to Eretz Yisrael and continued to arrange his manuscripts of responsum, homiletics and chassidut. Died in Tel Aviv in 1951 and was buried in "Nachlat Yitzchak" cemetary (near the Rebbes of Ruzhyn and Stefanest).
Presented here is a collecion of the manuscripts in his holy handwriting, that were not printed during the Rebbe's life. Notebooks and documents (will of Rabbi Naftali Rabinovitch and more).

Manuscript – "Novellae of the great Torah scholar and teacher, Rabbi Yechezkel, Av Bet Din of the Hamburg community". Novellae on Tractate Niddah.
At the end of the transcription, the writer records that these novellae were copied from pages printed at the end of the book "Novellae on Niddah of the Rashba", printed in Metz, 1776.
Rabbi Yechezkel Katznellboigen (1668-1749), Av Bet Din of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbeck, of the leading Torah scholars in his generation, authored Responsa Knesset Yechezkel.
Page 21 cm. Written in four columns on both sides. Very good condition.

Manuscript – essay "L'shem Shisha D'varim", commentary on the Mishna, by Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov son of Rabbi Zvi Bramsohn. 1897.
The manuscript contains a scholarly essay and commentary on the Mishna (and the Gemara), from B'rachot until Shvuot. (The end of the essay is missing – on the front page it is mentioned that the essay written on all six Orders of the Mishna, while the manuscript ends near the end of the fourth Order, The Order of Nezikin.) Various illustrations of astronomy and more.
Attached is another booklet, [apparently an earlier edition by the same author], novella on the Mishna, Rosh Hashana, Yevamot, Nazir, Sanhedrin, Avot, Midot and other tractates.
The author, the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov Bramsohn, lived in Reigorod (a city in the Lomza region, near the Prussian border) and died there c. 1899. His son-in-law is Rabbi Shimon Chaim Griavsky the son of the author of "Ginat Egoz" – see attached material.

Disciple of the great disciples of the Chatam Sofer, son-in-low of Rabbi Baruch Lichtenstein son of the Gaon Rabbi Hillel Lichtenstein of Kolomea. Served for sixty years as Av Beit Din of the city Hajduhadhaz. Died in Austria after deported to there with his community by the Nazis.

The writer is unknown to us. On page 295 appears an inscription: "Even Ha Ezer Part… Finished on 1924, Messilah Chadasha" [this may refer to the agricultural farm "Messilah Chadasha" established near Constantinople-Istanbul].

The books "Leket Ani", "Ohr Ha'emunah" and "Higayon Levavi" are included in his works. His writings were edited and published by his illustrious disciple Rabbi David Sperber (1875-1962, Otzar Harabbanim 5075), of the outstanding Rabbis in Galicia and Rumania, Av Bet Din of Braschow, authored the book "Ifraksete De'anya", of the leaders of "Mo'ezet Gedolei Hatorah". 1. Manuscript by the Rebbe of Mátészalka (Hadhas) Rabbi Yechizkiya Fisch, on inside leaves of binding of a book [Toldot Shmuel, Munkatch 1936]. Copying Chassidic and Kabbalic matters composed by his father, Rebbe of Hadas, Aharon Yesha'aya Fisch author of "Kdushat Aharon", signed in the name of Aharon Yesha'aya.
2. A letter signed by Rabbi Eliezer Fisch of Mátészalka, his son, was found within the book.

His son, Rabbi Eliezer Fisch Av-Beit-Din Mátészalka, survived the holocaust and emigrated to Brooklyn, New-Yor,k where he was known as the Rebbe of Hadas. Author of "Noam Si'ach".
