Rebbe Chaim Rabinovitch, descendant of Rabbi Nachman of Horodenka, Rabbi Ya'akov Shimshon of Spitovka and Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz. Born c. 1880 to his father Rebbe Shalom of Kolomea. Married the daughter of the Ga'on Rabbi Yisrael Landa Av-Beit-Din Sadigura, served in Rabbinate of Iassi and Sadigura. [In 1913, while his father in law was still alive (died in 1921), was appointed as Rabbi of Sadigura by family members and the city's rabbis – see item 481].
Moved to Bucharest after World War I, where he served as Admor. In 1930 published his book "Kochav Ha-Shachar", responsum and homiletics. In the introduction he tells his family's history [in the manuscripts herewith there are additional details about his family]. On the title page the author writes "as we have witness this first shining star…G-d will help me published all other novellae that I nurtured".
Emigrated to Eretz Yisrael and continued to arrange his manuscripts of responsum, homiletics and chassidut. Died in Tel Aviv in 1951 and was buried in "Nachlat Yitzchak" cemetary (near the Rebbes of Ruzhyn and Stefanest).
Presented here is a collecion of the manuscripts in his holy handwriting, that were not printed during the Rebbe's life. Notebooks and documents (will of Rabbi Naftali Rabinovitch and more).
[See items 479-481, letter of responsum with reply by the Maharsham of Berezhany, ordination by the author of "Even Yekara", letter from the city of Sadigura signed by the Ga'on Yesha'aya of Odessa and more].
Hundreds of large written leaves. Sizes and conditions vary.
