Ancient Manuscript Leaves - Sefer HaZohar
Opening: $750
Unsold
Two manuscript leaves, sections of the Zohar for Sefer Vayikra. Ancient Sephardic manuscript, from the period of the expulsion from Spain [c. 1490-1510]. The manuscript is dated according to the water stains on the paper.
In comparison to the first two prints it appears that this text has differences in the wording; some versions of this section differ from the Mantua print versions (1558-1560) but correlate with the Cremona print versions (1559-1560) and some differ from both. As well, he mentions that manuscripts on Sefer HaZohar which survived are few and rare.
Enclosed is a letter by an expert on Hebrew manuscripts.
Four pages, approx. 26 cm. Fair condition, defects on margins with omission to text.
