Album with 37 photographs taken by American Colony photographers, mounted on thick cardboard leaves. [Jerusalem, late 19th century or early 20th century].
Photographs of Palestine, taken by photographers of the "Photography Department of the American Colony". signed in the negative ("American Colony Jerusalem") and captioned (in English and French).
Photographs include: women's prayer at the Western Wall, interior of the Dome of the Rock, Rachel's Tomb and a fishing boat among the rocks of Jaffa Port. The front wooden binding is carved with a "Jerusalem cross", beneath which is the inscription "Yerushalem" (Hebrew). On the back binding is the inscription "Jerusalem".
Photographs average 15X10.5 cm, album: 22X16 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains to some photographs, tissue guards and cardboard plates. Light bends to cardboard leaves. Cracks to wooden binding. Leather spine, slightly worn.
