Aharon HaLevi immigrated to Palestine from the Russian Empire in 1906 and began his studies at Bezalel. Between 1912 and 1914 he worked at Bezalel, and in 1916-1917 he worked in Damascus as a draftsman for the Turkish army. In addition to his vocation as a painter, he was also a guard, a fisherman and a farmer.
