Four woodcuts, signed in pencil, made by Joseph Budko for the bibliophilic edition of Chaim Nachman Bialik's writings and translations, published by "Chovevei HaShirah HaIvrit" (Berlin, 1923).
Enclosed is a reproduction of a letter sent by Bialik to Budko (Hamburg, 1923) referring to the works of art before us.
Four woodcuts: approx. 17x12 cm (leaves: approx. 22x15c m). Good overall condition. Each one of the leaves is set in a passe-partout (with tissue guards).

The collection contains many woodcuts (many of them signed by the artist), representing various stages of his art, alongside drawings, sketches for prints, a photograph of Steinhardt (by the photographer Warner Braun, signed by Steinhardt) and a catalog of an exhibition of his works which was held at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in June 1947.
Among the prints: * Woodcut for the book Ben Sira. [1929]. * Out of the Flames, 1929-1936, by S. Shalom – cover design, (1936). * Moses, 1938. Made for the International Exhibition in New-York, 1939. * Winter in Zerkow, 1957.
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition.
