Le Juif Errant [The Wandering Jew], poster advertising the Italian film directed by Goffredo Alessandrini with the actors Vittorio Gassmann and Valentina Cortese. Paris, [1948]. French.
Poster in French advertising an Italian film, originally title L'Ebreo Errante. The film is about Mathew, a Jew who withholds help from Jesus and is sentenced to eternal wandering. The film jumps to 1940 and Mathew appears as a wealthy Jewish banker in Paris. He is able to flee from the Nazis, however, he prefers to share the fate of his Jewish brethren and is sent to a concentration camp in Germany. He manages to organize an uprising and flee the camp but upon hearing that if he does not return, the Nazis will murder one hundred Jews, he decided to return and is finally forgiven for his sin.
59.5X79 cm. Good condition. Folding marks. Tears to edges and to folding creases. The poster linen-backed for display and preservation. The edges of the linen fabric are slightly unraveled.

"To the Hebrew Traveler and Tourist", a poster on behalf of the Association for Navy Training (Hevel Yami LeIsrael). "Achdut" cooperative press Ltd., Tel-Aviv, [1938].
A poster announcing the establishment of a Navy School in Haifa (which evolved into the School for Navy Officers in Acre) which will include four departments: sailors, ship builders, mechanics and radio officers, and an additional charge of 50 Mil upon the purchase of ship tickets, dedicated to supporting the school.
An illustration by Shamir Brothers appears in the center of the poster: emblem of the Association of Navy Training on the background of sea waves, with four smaller illustrations, each representing a school department.

The poster, decorated on both sides with schematic stalks of wheat, lists the allocated portions according to the austerity policy, for the month of July 1948, with distribution for adults, children, pregnant women and instructions for food vendors. On the bottom appears the slogan: "Demand the allocated food portions, keep the distribution Just!".

Poster printed in honor of Chanuka 1949 celebrated that year with the theme "The first million" (in December 1949, the Jewish population in the State of Israel reached one million residents). The emblem of the Menorah and the inscription "One million Jews in Israel" appear in the center of the poster surrounded by the verse "I will gather the remnants of Israel" (Michah, Chapter 2, 12), and by the inscription "Chanuka 5710 / JNF".

In 1949 the journalist Aryeh Gelblum published in "Ha'aretz" a series of articles about new immigrant camps. The articles aroused a scandal due to the racial attitude expressed in the articles and the contempt towards the immigrants from East Europe and North Africa.

"Imperialism Has Long Arms – We shall cut them", an elections poster on behalf of the Israel Communist Party, presumably towards the elections to the Constituent Assembly. "Amal" press, Tel-Aviv, [1949?].
Illustrated are two large hands, representing the United States and Britain, threatening the State of Israel with imperialism and the inscription "Imperialism has long arms – we shall cut them". The letter "ק", the party's emblem, appears below the legend alongside the official title of the party – "Communists' and Nonpartisan's List".
