381 issues of "Kuntres", the journal of the "Achdut HaAvodah" party. Tel-Aviv-Jaffa: "Achdut" cooperative press, 1919-1943.
The issues of "Kuntres" appeared weekly during the years 1919-1929 and again during the years 1943-1945. The first editor of the journal was Berl Katznelson, and among its writers were several of the most important writers and leaders in Palestine: David Ben-Gurion, Moshe Sharet, Eliyahu Golomb, Moshe Beilinson, Abba Achimeir, Yosef Chaim Brenner, Uri Zvi Greenberg, Azar, Aharon Michel Borochov and others. The publication of the journal ceased in 1930, after the parties "Achdut HaAvodah" and "HaPoel HaTza'ir" united to form a new party – Mapai. In 1943 its publication was renewed for a year and a half, its editor being Yechiel Halpern, and in 1945 it was finally closed.
Before us are issues 1 to 380 which appeared during the years 1919-1929 and issues 381-393 which appeared during the years 1943-1945 (issues 200-212 which appeared in 1925 and issue 223 are missing).
The issues contain reports, protocols of meetings and conferences, polemic articles against the rival parties "HaPoel HaTza'ir" and "Gedud HaAvodah" and articles about the events of those years (the 1921 Jaffa riots, the 1929 Palestine Riots, and more).
Enclosed: additional copies of nineteen issues; an index for "Kuntres", edited by Gezel Kressel (Tel-Aviv, 1977).
Approx. 20.5 cm. Good-fair overall condition. The issues were not thoroughly examined and are offered for sale AS IS.
