"Jugend-Alijah", ten black-and-white photographs in a portfolio. Issued by Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Kinder- und Jugend-Alijah, Bismarck-Photo, [Berlin, 1930s].
Ten photographs in a portfolio (with an enclosed dedication card). The photographs are mounted on thick papers, accompanied by handwritten captions in German, and depict the Aliyat HaNo'ar: agricultural work in the garden and the field, students in a Heder, a building in Jerusalem, a carpentry shop, and more. One of the photographs is attributed to photographer Zoltan Kluger (1934) – the first group of Aliyat HaNo'ar marching to "Ein Harod". Possibly, the other photographs were also taken by him (it is also possible that they were taken by other photographers).
Originally, the photographs were accompanied by an introduction by Herman-Menachem Gerson, the leader of the Werkleute – Bund jüdische Jugend youth movement in Berlin (missing). See: Kedem, Online Auction 18, lot 490.
Photographs: 11.5X16 cm, portfolio: 35 cm. Good condition. A few blemishes to the portfolio.
Provenance: The Rimon Family Collection.
