Palestine by Word and Illustration, a booklet published by Abraham Moses Luncz. Rechovot: A. Makow & J. Blumenfeld, [1917 or 1918]. English.
The booklet features fifteen pictures of well-known sites in Palestine – Jaffa, Jerusalem, Mount Zion, the Tower of David, the Western Wall, the Jordan River, Rachel's Tomb and more; on the facing pages, short explanations about each of the sites. At the end of the booklet, a picture that was printed without an explanatory page – a family in traditional attire in Bethlehem.
The booklet is bound in a colorful cover with an additional title on its inside – "Souvenir of the occupation of Jerusalem, Views and accurate description of Jerusalem by the British Troops, Dec. 9th 1917" and a picture of Absalom's Pillar on its verso.
[16] leaves, 15.5 cm. Good condition. Stains and minor blemishes (mostly to cover).
