Manuscript – essay "L'shem Shisha D'varim", commentary on the Mishna, by Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov son of Rabbi Zvi Bramsohn. 1897.
The manuscript contains a scholarly essay and commentary on the Mishna (and the Gemara), from B'rachot until Shvuot. (The end of the essay is missing – on the front page it is mentioned that the essay written on all six Orders of the Mishna, while the manuscript ends near the end of the fourth Order, The Order of Nezikin.) Various illustrations of astronomy and more.
Attached is another booklet, [apparently an earlier edition by the same author], novella on the Mishna, Rosh Hashana, Yevamot, Nazir, Sanhedrin, Avot, Midot and other tractates.
The author, the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Ya'akov Bramsohn, lived in Reigorod (a city in the Lomza region, near the Prussian border) and died there c. 1899. His son-in-law is Rabbi Shimon Chaim Griavsky the son of the author of "Ginat Egoz" – see attached material.
This essay apparently has not been printed, but other essays by the author are known: "Shimsha D'Shmuel (Warsaw, 1897) and other essays.
