Two relief maps of the Middle East drawn by Richard Palmer. Published by Dobbs, Baily & Co., London, [1845].
Relief maps; paper and Papier Maché on a wooden board. The maps were marketed to bible students and for general educational purposes.
1. Relievo Map of Palestine or the Holy Land, Illustrating the Sacred Scriptures and the Researches of Modern Travelers.
Map of the upper part of Palestine, trans-Jordan and Lebanon. On the right side appears a small relief map of Jerusalem next to a detailed legend and comments about the geology of the land, from the book by the clergyman and researcher John Wilson.
2. Relievo Map of Arabia, Petraea and Idumaea, Illustrating the Prophetical Scriptures, the Journeyings of the Israelites & c.
Map of the Negev and part of Sinai. On the side appears a detailed legend listing the journeys of the Israelites in the desert and additional information about the area.
46.5X57.5 cm each. Fair condition. Curved wooden boards. Dampstains. Very dark paper. Numerous stains. Some tears at margins, not affecting the maps.
Do not appear in Laor or in the NLI.
