Remains of illustrated ketubah for the marriage of the groom, David ben Yosef Ezra Yosef, and the bride, Hanna bat Eliyahu Avraham. Basra, [1827].
Handwritten on paper and decorated with colorful decorations. Enclosed is a letter addressed to Lady Ezra [Rachel Ezra (Sassoon), wife of Rabbi David Ezra from India, daughter of Solomon David Sassoon and sister of the collector David Solomon Sassoon] indicating the ketubah belongs to David Cohen.
Approx. 27X42.5 cm. Poor condition. Many tears, with damage to text. Dampstains, with damage to text and illustrations. Enclosed are torn and damaged pieces of the upper ketubah illustrations.
