Tallit bag - "Sfara DeTzitzit". Morocco, [early decades of the 20th century].
Silver thread embroidery on red velvet and cardboard.
Decorated with embroidery in vegetal motifs, birds and hens. Embroidered on the top part of the front of the bag is the name of the Bar Mitzvah boy who received the bag: "Jananiah son of Abraham Nachmiash". Embroidered on the back are flower ornaments and the boy's initials, JN.
Approx. 30X24 cm. Fair-poor condition. Velvet fabric badly worn, some cloth pieces missing, unraveling to velvet cloth and embroidery, with damage to decorations.
